A little bit of back story

I was once broken and believed I was ugly inside and out. I wore a mask every day long before COVID came along and I raged and railed at the world and all those closest to me.

To the outside world I was confident, happy and successful, inside I was hollow and dead.

That all changed on 31st October 2017 when I finally saw myself for who I was in my reflection at the bottom of a toilet bowl. My life changed that day as I stopped lying to myself and to those I loved.

I admitted my addiction, my dirty little secret and took my first steps on what was to become The Stevenson Way.

Of course it was nowhere near as simple and straightforward as that nice summary made it seem after all life rarely is. Life is messy, complicated and overlapping especially where mental health is involved.

Who is Scott?

Authentic, compassionate and to the point he is not your average mental health speaker.

A blisteringly honest public speaker with a wealth of lived life experience covering PTSD, Bulimia, Suicide and all the baggage that comes with that type of journey.

A proudly autistic parent to autistic children.

Scott has at various stages in his career been a terrible boy scout, an adequate soldier, outstanding police officer as well as a square peg in a round hole for as long as he can remember.

You wont get the usual, typical presentation.

What does he do?

You will get the ground truth in honest, simple language your team can relate to on a truly human level.

He uses his life story to put concepts like stress, resilience, anxiety and depression into context and help challenge the stigma and the wall of silence that surrounds these areas.

He uses his life story to put concepts like stress, resilience, anxiety and depression into context and help challenge the stigma and the wall of silence that surrounds these areas.

He charts what worked and what didn't during his ongoing recovery and his journey to better mental health.

The happiest clinically depressed person you will ever meet.

It was the very nature of my multiple and overlapping problems and issues that forced me to look for alternative solutions to my problems beyond the classical medical model.

I was a unique human with unique problems, and I needed a unique solution designed for me not designed for the many. For me that solution became The Stevenson Way.

These days I am the happiest and most content I have ever been in my life. I have found balance in my life and now manage my multiple conditions from a position of knowledge and understanding of me and what makes me tick.

I am a father to two children as neuro diverse as I am and engaged to my fiancé. We live in the beautiful village of Moira N Ireland and share our home with 2 King Charles Cavaliers.

In my spare time I play dungeons and dragons, watch too much science fiction and love cooking.
